The role of databases in the impact assessment of the Hungarian development policy programmes

At the conference of Academy of Development Policy (Fejlődéspolitikai Akadémia), an organiastion of the National Development Agency, Zsombor Cseres-Gergyely and Ágota Scharle presented their opinions about Hungarian databases used in the evaluation of government programmes.

BI expert Ágota Scharle gave a presentation on the exploitability of CANPI's (Central Administration of National Pension Insurance) database to assess the impact of programmes aiming to improve employability. She outlined a materialized research, based on this database, tried to detect the causes of decreasing proportion of new disability pensioners.

In his presentation, BI researcher Zsombor Cseres-Gergyely emphasized the necessity of creating a database using administrative sources to make properly detailed and precise evaluation of the impact of START Extra and START Plus Programmes.
