Project name The evolution of day care provision for children under 4 in Visegrad countries
Project state Closed
Start date 01/06/2009
End date 26/02/2010
Abstract

Led by the Budapest Institute, the project has collected and shared existing information on day care services for children aged 1-4 and factors that have influenced changes in such services in the Visegrad 4 since 1989.

On 11-12 November, we held a workshop for researchers of the above issues. We issued a call for papers in manuscript or published only in local languages but not English that explain the causes of changes in the system since 1989 or measure the impact of these changes. Deadline for submission was 8 October 2009, see details in the call below.

Based on papers presented at the workshop we prepared an electronic book that describes and explains the evolution of day care services in the Visegrad countries from 1989 to 2009.

Lastly, project participants also collected administrative data in a uniform framework on regulations and use of day care services for children. All project outputs are downloadable. Support from the Visegrad Fund is gratefully acknowledged.
