Twenty-eight percent of working-age adults in Hungary lack the basic literacy skills required for retraining.  As automation and artificial intelligence transform the job market, more workers will need to learn new skills or even switch careers, but many are not prepared.

The bottom decile of taxpayers pay around 6-8% point more tax in proportion to their income than those in the top decile. This can be attributed to three main factors: the higher savings rate of the rich, the high VAT rate and the flatness of the income tax system.
