We are seeking to hire a junior research assistant - Roma policy fellow

BI and the Romaversitas Foundation are seeking to hire a junior research assistant for a fixed term position.

The junior research assistant will be expected to contribute to research and evaluation projects under the supervision of senior colleagues. The junior colleague will manage specific research tasks independently, and will support the work of senior researchers/project managers as a coordinator both within BI and Romaversitas. She/he will contribute to writing reports, literature reviews, desktop research, data mapping and analysis as well as to project coordination in general (organising meetings, interviews, etc). 

Qualification and skill requirements: university degree, preferably in social sciences (BA at least), native Hungarian, at least intermediate, but preferably advanced level English, good writing skills, independence and reliability. We are looking for candidates who actively support the mission of the Budapest Institute and that of Romaversitas. Applications of candidates belonging to the Roma minority will be given priority.

Additional skills are appreciated: a sound understanding and interest in microeconomics, political economy, and/or welfare policies aimed at social inclusion, relevant work experience (especially in international projects), experience in working with statistical software, basic statistics/econometrics, and advanced language skills (in particular, Romanian, Bulgarian, or any other languages spoken in the Visegrad countries).

Working time and salary to be negotiated. The initial offer will be for a fixed term contract which will be reviewed and possibly extended after 12 months.
